Longer than a crew sock and knitted in a soft rib with no elastic band at the top, so it sits in folds around the ankle or pulls up over the calf under joggers. A cotton-wool blend: warmer than plain cotton, washable at 40 unlike the wool socks.
Because there is no grip they will not stay up if you want them to. That is the design, and it is in the name.
