The socks for the rest of the week. Combed cotton with nylon for wear and elastane so the rib recovers, knitted fine at 12-gauge and ribbed to the top. Each pack is three near-shades - oat, flax and stone, or three greys - so a lost sock does not strand its pair. The toe seam is hand-linked and lies flat.
Cotton socks lose their spring before they wear through. With weekly wear, expect about two years before the leg starts to slide.
